fall projects that have me excited
It’s the most creative time of the year! There’s something about the fall that makes me so excited to create - and I know I’m not alone. I’m trying not to overload myself with too many projects, but it’s so hard to do when there are so many cute things to make and so little time to do it.
Here are a few things that I am super excited about making this fall:
1. Knitting the Uniform Cardigan Light by Madder Made
I bought this cardigan pattern a few years ago, and made the worsted weight version of the cardigan. I was a much less experienced knitter back then, and I think i went wrong with the increase rows, because the cardi didn’t turn out very well. I’m really excited to try making it again, in the Light version this time.
One thing I really like about this pattern is that it is completely customizable. For this cardi, I’m going with a cropped length and bell sleeves.
2. Punch needling an orange and brown yin & yang pillow
I’ve never punch needled before, but I have my materials and I’m ready to get started. I’m thinking a fall-themed yin & yang design would be a fun first project. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!
3. Baking pumpkin spice muffins
Another thing I loovvee about fall is being able to bake again! I live in Montana, which means our summers are (usually) pretty mild, and most houses do not have air conditioning. But I also am in a third floor apartment, so my home gets really hot during the summer. Cooler fall weather means I can use my oven again, aka I am baking something pretty much every week.
I always try and make some sort of pumpkin muffin this time of year, and this recipe looks great. Should I also make Halloween sugar cookies?
4. Sewing a quilt jacket
I actually already completed this project! I’ve wanted a quilt jacket ever since they got super popular last year, and I finally had some time this year to put it together. I have a full blog post going up allll about making this quilt jacket in the next couple of weeks.
5. Halloween-themed linocut
I just learned how to make linocut prints last month, and I’m considering making a halloween-themed one and mailing my friends and family the prints. I’m thinking maybe a cute pumpkin man with his pumpkin friends.
Last time I worked on a linocut, I cut my fingers in three different spots, so wish me luck I don’t do that again!
Those are my main projects that I’m excited for in the next few months! As I mentioned before, it’s so easy for me to load myself up with projects and get discouraged, so I’m trying to keep my list pretty simple.
I would love to hear what your fall crafting plans are! Comment down below what you plan on making x.
